Has anyone seen these videos?

Looks like some kids somewhere in Asia got a hold of the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra and recorded some video samples with them.

Initially I thought they were fake but in this first video this kid clearly shows the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra in his hand.

The person in the second video doesn't show the phone. Although I'm inclined to believe it is the S20 Ultra because this video has the same type of quality as the first video.

Anyways what do you guys think?

This looks amazing!

I don't know how much more you need in a smartphone camera really. Simply beautiful footage.

Here's some more nighttime and daytime 8k footage from the S20 Ultra.

Totally unedited too. Very good quality from a phone, and the microphones sound good too. Android phones have struggled in the past with crappy audio while recording video. I wish more of the tech YouTubers would do test videos like this. Just raw footage, no editing, no soundtrack etc.

LG devices have had pretty good recording capability, Pixel audio was poor with the 2XL and 3XL. Samsung has been decent but I'm glad to hear it's improved. I'll have to rewatch and listen later

You probably just haven't heard audio from LG devices then. They specialize in HiFi recording tech and this video from the old LG V30 shows that off. I'm also waiting for the V60 before I make any decisions. Check this out though.

Moment uploaded late last night and I am impressed for real. I have to go to a store myself to answer personal questions about RAW that probably won't be covered for a while. Also I want to test out the pro video mode to how well it stacks up to what LG does with their manual mode.

Yeah LG was probably the one outlier. But most reviewers totally overlook audio and especially overlook LG. Juan Bagnell was probably the only one who doesn't.

I hope reviewers actually review the regular S20 as much as they're going to review the Ultra. But I doubt it. They all get a hard on (or Samsung pushes them) to go ape over the biggest and most expensive model while practically ignoring the rest.

Either way it's nice to see an Android OEM really take video recording seriously. That was one area iPhone's had on lock, but looks like the S20 will really challenge them

Yeah. The competition is definitely taking a step forward this year. And I hope reviewers really do consider the standard S20 as much as the bigger siblings. If I get one that'll probably be the one I go with. If.

Do you know if the more recent Moment lenses work with the Ultra?

They haven't said yet. It will be interesting to see though. They said they're doing an 8k video all from the phone as well to see what the video from it can really do.

I just heard back from them. They are testing it out this week. I see they have the case already for preorder. I hope the current lenses aren't a problem but I have a feeling the larger sensor could cause issues.

Unfortunately I believe so. As hardware changes I imagine they may have to design new lenses but maybe they can find a way to be able to make the current ones compatible and you would just have to purchase the case. That would be great. I'm also curious to see how their app along with other third party apps will fare in keeping up with new capabilities like 8k recording and so forth on Android. I'm pretty sure iOS will be the same ease of use and feature update story.

Yeah....forgot about the app. The anamorphic lens requires that software especially because it desqueezes the video to give the cinematic effect.
