yes, that "backordered" question did really come up and people were quizzically asking why it said "backordered" a year ago as well. well good, i guess, because we should not be bummed about that odd use of the word backordered.

samsung.com really ought to get their act together and use the proper terminology to indicate what they are trying to communicate!

additionally, why does the samsung.com site's "My Orders" page show different wording? on the website's My Orders, there is no "Backordered" wording at all. All mine says is "Preorder Expedited", with the cancel button still showing. Expected delivery date shows as Jan 29th.

may i ask the good folks here on this thread approximately what time they completed their Samsung.com order please?

i finished mine on Thursday, January 14th, around 1pm, which is merely 2 hours or so after the Samsung Unpacked presentation where all the facts are provided (no longer merely rumors). so, i thought that i really couldn't have done it any sooner or quicker!

yet, my order page still says Preorder (for the S21 Ultra 512gb UNLOCKED) and says Order Placed for the other items (Buds Pro Silver, S-Pen, 45 Watt Fast Charger). darn it!

you guys must have done something right for all of yours to have gone forward another step to having the cancel button disappearing!

Ordered unlock 256gb Thursday at 930 am pst and currently says back order and cancel button is still there.

You still get the buds and tracker free with whoever you order from don't you? I didn't even check to see if Verizon had a better deal on our S10+ trade ins since Samsung was giving us the extra $60 in accessories but we only got 550 for our phones and I do know at BB it was $500.

You'll get it. Just download the Samsung Shop app when new phone arrives. The credits won't that big compared to buying from Samsung.

I ordered thru VZ due to the $600 credit for my pixel 2xl trade. I didn't even bother to look elsewhere.
