S21 Purchase Thread

As a practical matter, is 5G actually available in most areas? My understanding is that it's not and that when they have done benchmarks on much of the 5G currently out there vs. 4G, there is little or no benefit and that often, 4G provides better speeds. My sense is that 5G is in its infancy and that the current "5G push" is largely just marketing hype.

Am I wrong?

I would say that was more true last year and the year before. Most markets are getting some time of 5G service, even if it is low-band 5G.
 
Yep the performance is mostly hype for now. I got faster speeds on lte than 5g in Sacramento. It's going to be getting better this year though and the possibilities are that it is tremendously better depending on where you live. Another spectrum auction is coming soon too.
 
im an old tmobile costumer with 3 active lines, so trying to get the BOGO for the s21 they made me add and extra line so i did, actually i was looking to change my own number so was ok, but i want to know if let say in two months i want to cancel one of the old lines.. will i have a problem doing it, penalty i mean ?? i will keep the new line. anyone have gone thru this?
 
I asked this question to a T-Mobile CSR a few years after a BOGO and was told I could be billed for the full price of the second phone. You might try calling a couple different times and seeing what answer you are getting. The way I was explained at least for a while if not for the whole 24 months I would need to not drop any lines from my account. Things might have changed or maybe I was given incorrect information.

that's the same i hear but about the extra line, i didn't wanted to be obvious asking to eliminate the old one yet.
 
Ordered a 512 gb ultra from At&t.com. order still says delivery by January 29. Status in progress still a cancel button
 
Still waiting here for Fed-Ex to come for my husbands phone. Mine says coming 2/3 but it says it hasn't reached Fed-Ex yet or been shipped only label created. So I hope it is coming by Wed. It says date will be updated once Fed-Ex receives shipment. I guess will wait and see! Husband is sleeping and I am leaving for work. Hopefully I'll see the notification in time when they pull up on the camera app and can call him real quick to go to the door. I don't want them to not leave it! Car is in the driveway though so hopefully they will know someone is home.

I believe his FedEx app actually shows shipped and should be here today. I guess I need to have him double double check but my app doesn't say shipped and says delivery date may change once FedEx receives the package I'm almost positive his says shipped on his app though. He's sleeping so I can't check.
 
Ordered the s21 ultra 256 from Samsung, delivery is three weeks out ..... wow. I’d go elsewhere but I’m getting a great trade-in value for my s10+
 
Mine was shipped on Saturday 2/13 and was supposed to be delivered on Tues 2/16. Then the weather happened. No phone. Tracking says it left Coppell,TX on the 13th but then it went into a FedEx black hole. No further tracking. FedEx tracing has a red banner claiming that there could be delays and has a list of cities that have suspended service and and a list with partial service. Whole states have suspended service. Oh well, I guess I need more patience.
 
I've gotten two emails apologizing for delays and now shows 27th.

I would love to see a button to cancel order -- at least in my case it never got to shipped 2nd step.

Finally showed up yesterday 2/24 - 11 days after it was shipped. FedEx's backlog must have been really horrendous because of the weather.
 
Ordered my S21 256gb unlocked (from Samsung) on Feb 1st. It will arrive tomorrow the 27th, they claim they shipped it on the 23rd. "Expedited Delivery". LOL

is it cheaper to get the GS21's through Verizon or Samsung? I am due in a few days to have my phone paid off through Verizon and can upgrade but I'm looking at getting it through Samsung since Verizon doesn't offer other colors in 256GB. I'm either going for a 21 or a 21 Ultra. And Samsung can let you make payments right? Now i see the 21 256GB only comes in grey from Samsung. what happened to the other colors? They show pics of the other colors still.
