Ive had the s21 ultra for a couple of days, and noticed that the AOD uses quite abit of battery.
Anyone noticed the same thing?
I'm using WQHD... Thinking if changing to FHD would help.

I use AOD but only when I get a notification does it actually turn on, so in this scenario I don't notice much drain if any. I use AOD notify app to do this.

I use WQHD on the phone. Originally, the Always on Display used about 18% of my battery and I switched from Always On to Tap to show for 10 seconds. Then, about a week ago, I received an update for the Always on Display, 6.2.11.3, and it has almost halved to 10% of battery.

I notice that the new version is now included in the global, Exynos, update, AUB6, released yesterday.

There's been couple updates to AOD in Galaxy play store , maybe might help.

I wonder how much of AoD's battery use comes when the phone is charging overnight, when it doesn't really matter. A good experiment would be to turn it off while charging and see how its daily battery use compares.

I used to always keep mine on and now I think I have it set to tap to display. But I mean I can always charge my phone at any time so I don't really need to worry about if I want to keep it on all the time or not I guess but I've always been curious how much it does drain the battery.

On my Note 9 I was used to a regular 1% per hour for AOD. I only have my Ultra for a couple of days, but it is less than 1%. I'll report back after a while.

Great. Thanks!
I had mine with WQHD and AOD always on. It used about 10% battery yesterday. I'm trying out with AOD Show on tap today to see how it goes.
