S22: Android Update Yesterday, Now Text Messages No Longer Wake Up Screen

I really appreciate all of your suggestions, mustang. Unfortunately, Safe Mode didn't help. However, just for the hell of it, I installed Textra, set it as default and it does wake up the phone.

Yup, having the exact same issue as OP. Just started since most recent update. HATE IT!

Try in lock screen settings>under AoD show for new notification

Subject says it all. Prior to the Android update yesterday, text messages always woke up the screen and showed as a pop-up. Now, I just hear the alert sound and then see the notification on the AOD. I believe I've tried everything, but I would appreciate any input on how to fix this. Thanks!

Only work around is using 3rd party apps like glimpse notifications.

Is there a way to have notifications include miss calls? I have the led light displaying around the edge of the phone but only does it for messages.

I was also wanting a notification light that stays on to let me know I have missed a call, like a light that flashes to tell me else if I missed a call and the screen is off, I have no way to know I missed a call

Unfortunately, despite everyone's suggestions, my S22 still doesn't wake up with a text message.

I am having the exact same issue since the update I started another discussion because I hadn't see this one, mustang was a huge help but I tried everything and still no wake up screen like it was before

Well, I'm happy to report that this problem now seems to be fixed. I just had some update within the last week and now all text messages are waking up the phone again.

I'm on At&t and received a pretty decent size update last week but still didn't fix the issue. The has to be one of the worst bugs with this new Android 13. I'd honestly rather downgrade to get the feature back ??????
