Yea.... I'm not too worried.

I was sorta worried about ultra not having sd card, I've always used one. Coming from note 10+ with 256gb storage.
just looked, I have used 74.22gb of internal storage and used 3.50 gb of 256 sd card. lol

So since I ordered a 512gb, I don't think I have to worry. 😉

I wasn't sure if no SD slot would be ok, but the ZF3 showed me that I could live without it - as long as I'm smart about what needs to be on the device. So, it doesn't bother me as much anymore.

You know what really bothers me? In order to have more storage you NEED to buy a more expensive version of the phone, but when you trade it back in, the storage size does not factor in. The 1TB storage phone I bought will be worth just as much as the 128GB version during trade in and I can't do anything about it if I want the storage. That's the real tragedy no one talks about. Eons ago storage was factor in trade-in values. LOL

It's been a while since I've used an sd card. 256gb is my usual go to size and it's more than enough for me.

One of the reasons having a micro-SD card slot is super useful is that I can simply swap out the old card with all my useful files and re-insert into the new phone...then BAMMM! I have all my beloved music, PDF files, pictures, videos, etc, on my new phone in an instant. Without a memory card slot, that means I have to manually re-load all the same sh!t back onto a new device...a total drag and time waster. I have been doing this same method for years and years with every new phone! Alas, no more.

Before trading your old phone in, you can use Smart Switch (whether by connecting the 2 phones with the USB cable, or by using an external USB drive).

New to Samsung. Will that work between and LG and a Samsung. Do you need Smart Switch on both devices?

My question would be why do you need to transfer 700GB why not back it up on a hard drive it in the cloud? I start fresh with pictures and video on a new phone and go to the cloud if I need to see them

This will be first time in longtime with phone without so card.I have files of music, ringtones, photos and videos on so card in my note 20 ultra.I do have portable drive storage already so my important files from sad card and pc are backed up on it.I prefer that to using cloud. that’s why I ordered 512. Will put files on phone.

I used to be hung up on the SD card. But with everything available in the cloud, much less so. I think music was always the big thing. Now, with Apple music, why do I need to buy cds and rip them? I don't. In fact, those are a pain.

Exactly. Everyone is getting hung up on the lack of an SD card but they are going the way of the floppy disk. With everything streaming and cloud services being the norm, it's really not a big issue.

With my Note 10+ phone that I've been using since it first came out over 2 years ago, my 256 internal storage is 81% used. My 512GB microSD card is 38% used. I ordered the 512GB S22 Ultra model, so hopefully it will last for at least 2 to 3 years for storage. I hate that Samsung stopped using the microSD card slot as I've always had that feature on my many Samsung phones over the years. It's so convenient to simply swap out my old card full of music, pics, video, document files to insert into a new phone for immediate use. Can't do that anymore.

SD card is 0.93 TB, is at 39%. I've already put aside what can be deleted and that clears up 85 GB. (291 GB of SD card storage used).
My Internal storage is 128 GB and 55% (72 GB) used.
I'm a bit concerned. Hopefully 512 GB is enough.

I won't miss the Micro Sd but with it going so does the Hybrid Sim slot. Is the UK version still dual sim (physical) or not only nano sim + esim?

I noticed that if you backup with OneDrive, it only backs up your internal storage and doesn't include your SD card. So, if you your SD card takes a dump, you're out of luck if you are not manually backing up that up to another device.
Using internal storage only is a good way to make sure everything is backed up.
