S22 ultra to pixel 7 pro

I'm on the S22+. I financed for 36 from Samsung. I'm going to start paying a little bit extra every month so I can eventually sell it for what is owed on it and then I will probably get the Pixel 7 Pro. I don't know. Maybe in 6 months this phone will improve. Right now Google will give me $620 for this phone and they are selling for $600 on Swappa but I currently owe around $800 on it. That's a big downside to paying 36 months vs 24. The value drops quicker than what is owed on it. I want to at least keep this phone for a full year.

I just spoke with Samsung and I can't trade in the phone to any place else than Samsung until it's paid off.

Also they confirmed that if I pay off one of my devices early then it will lower my monthly payment.

Did they say what would happen if you did trade it in? Would the other company be able to find out someway and deny the trade in?

I'm leaning towards buying it. I know I can sell both my phone and tablet to pay them off. My main reason is I want the best camera on a phone because my wife and I are celebrating our 20th in the DR in June next year. I may end up keeping my tablet and just paying the extra that I would need to pay off the phone.

I don't understand that. Samsung doesn't lease out phones. You actually bought it, and Samsung is allowing you to pay it off over time. BUT the phone is yours. Stop paying and Samsung will not demand the return of the phone. Samsung can't stop you from doing whatever you want with the S22+ its now yours to do with as you please. I've sold and traded in phones I bought through samsung financing without any issues.

That makes sense because when I check the esn on Swappa it is available to sell. Whenever I have tried to sell a phone that I bought through Verizon and I still had payments, Swappa told me it's not eligible to be sold. But with Samsung, it is.

I don't know why they told you that. Samsung doesn't care what you do with the phone as long as you keep paying on it or you pay it off. I've done it a lot of times.

Love my S22U and I honestly don't see any advantage. No, I don't pay attention to the cameras.

This is just another upgrade.

Thats funny. I have several phones financed that have been traded in or sold.

I don't know if I would move from a S22 to a P7. But I know now that I would have a hard time justifying the extra few $100s for a Galaxy. My P7 replaced an [excellent] S10 and I would do it again.
