The secret is you have to get the first phone paid, then it's trade in party. I had a fold 2 and an old note laying around, think note 10, I bought the fold 3 for $187.00.

You also have to stop buying carrier phones, their promos are monthly credits and buying outright is not cheap.

And...and ... If you're really disciplined and patient, I know some people will take the "freebies" and free credit purchases such as a new watch or ear buds, etc and turn around, and sell those to off set the price even more. Some end up making money....lol

I always like the free stuff and credit items though , so not my cup of tea

Exactly... There's usually good promos also. That's how I got both fold edition spens, came free with the case promo at order, then the $200 credit.. Is like Samsung paid me to take a fold 3 of their hands.

I don't usually sell my freebies, I don't really want to mess around with selling stuff online. I use it myself or someone in the family can use it.

My S22 Ultra does everything I need and then some more, I feel no need to change it ;)

That's the same in my situation. Besides, I've gotten used to OneUI, and I never liked vanilla Android. Back when I used Nexus devices, the first thing I did was install Nova Launcher even though I hadn't used Samsung devices at the time.

There are good indicators and documented rumors that Google is going to be having features only available on Pixels. So the now listening, call hold, assistant call answering features will only be available on Pixels. The latest episode of Android Police podcast discussed this.

If Google keeps adding these various features, I may end up trying out the Pixel 8 next year.

That's smart that they keep the pixel features pixel only, that's really the main reason I buy pixels. If all Android's had them I'd probably buy more Samsungs instead :p

Hmm, it sounds like Pixel is kind of going the Apple route in a way!

After some research I am staying with the s22 ultra which seem to be the better device. I can't believe Google didn't launch a better device this year. My last pixel was the 3 and I loved it!!

Pixel 3 was my favorite device to date ... broke my yearly update habit. Stuck with it until the 6 Pro; was slightly disappointed by the 6 Pro and got the S22 Ultra. I really expected to dislike it, but here we are and I've moved on from the 6 Pro and ended up returning the 7 Pro ... Sammy has a winner with the S22U IMO!

I agree with you, the Pixel 3 line was really awesome! The 4 line felt like a letdown to me, personally.

Samsung is a great all-around device. I definitely miss using Samsung phones at times! I've taken some superb videos with my Pixel 7, however I'm curious as to how the S22 Ultra performs in the real world with moving objects (ex, my Pixel 7 does a great job of capturing my infant son's erratic movements). I think user experience is the only way to really tell, though reviews can give you a glimpse of the phone's capabilities.
