S26 ultra privacy screen

Really? This is such groundbreaking, innovative feature?

Who is this for exactly? People who constantly watch adult content? I don't see any practical uses for this honestly. I mean, I'm sure they might be there for some people, but yeah...
Definitely NOT worth spending any money towards upgrading your device if you already have an S25 ultra, or even possibly an S24 ultra, at least in my book. I have an S23 ultra and if I was going to buy any devices, I'd go with an S24 series device personally.

I feel like it's kind of silly that this is all Samsung has come up with and they are showing some major lack of innovation, especially in recent years. I feel they hit something special up until the S24 Ultra, and then just crashed after that with the S25 ultra and then on.

Just because it doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it's not innovation (and full disclosure, I couldn't care less about the feature either... but I can appreciate how it does push the envelope forward for displays). And privacy filters aren't just for people watching adult content. Plenty of users (again, just because it's not YOUR use case, doesn't mean that others, sometimes a majority of other users, don't have a need for it) have to have some sort of privacy protectors for entirely legitimate reasons like work-related materials, bank information (which should be everyone doing it, so the fact that you can turn this on individually for these apps is, in itself, already groundbreaking), just general 'don't want you to read my texts, you nosey!' situations, etc. For instance, employees working on sensitive projects are required by most government agencies and high-profile companies to discontinue use of work devices on public spaces or use mandatory privacy protectors; with this screen, you can set it up and still allow for a more 'normal' use of the device, while protecting your sensitive information from prying eyes.

Take 3D screens, for instance... Just because it didn't 'take off', it doesn't mean that the tech wasn't innovative at the time, especially the few that did it without the need for 3D glasses.

I was more impressed by the gimbal-grade video stabilization than the privacy screen tech, but even then, for the 2.73 times I'd REALLY use that, doesn't mean that other more video-focused users won't use it and appreciate it even more.

Would I upgrade from a 25 to a 26? Maybe not, but if you get a good deal on trade-ins and credits, why not? (I'm using a Flip 7, and while I'd be intrigued to 'upgrade' just to try the new features out until the new Flip comes out, unfortunately Samsung decided not to do trade-ins anymore between the 'current gen' Flips and S-line, so can't trade in a Flip 7 for an S26, just like you couldn't trade in an S25 for a Flip 7).

It's not about adult content so others can't see your type password/Pin , financial apps things u like to keep private and they did that with a display is pretty innovative , that's why some buy privacy screen protector but now it's built into the screen. Would that be the sole deciding factor maybe for some.

25w wireless charging
60w wired charging

Better chip
Better cooling
Better pictures
Horizontal lock (unbelievable how they did that)
Better video (stable)

That answered my question about why I did not see the Flip 7 as trade-in option. Thx.

I think most people should realize that improvements are not as significant because the tech has plateaued. There is a significant list of improvements actually. The question is...how noticable are they? Which brings me back to my initial statement.

As for the hardware level privacy screen...its only ground breaking if Apple does it.
