I've searched the forum but didn't see anyone having an issue with the bezel becoming stiff. Mine was smooth when I got it 2 weeks ago, but it became harder to turn starting yesterday, I tried rinsing/washing the watch, but it is still stiff. I noticed that this black stuff was coming out from under the watch, searching a XDA I guess it's the teflon ring/seal under the rotating bezel.

Does anyone know if this is a defect and if that teflon seal is not whole, will it affect the water resistance to my watch?

Let's see. I've had my S3 for about...a month, maybe. My bezel is turning just fine. I don't have anything coming out from under mine. If I were you, I'd be contacting Samsung asap.

I've had mine for 7 months and there have been a several (~4-5) occasions when the bezel became unexplicably hard to turn. I turned it off, soaked it in a bowl of lukewarm water for a couple of minutes. Removed it, dried it off, then rotated the bezel a few dozen times in each direction. Then finally, turned it back on. Sometimes I only did the last step: turn it off and manually rotated bezel multiple times.

I've not seen any apparent degradation with age so far, but I have an extended warranty, so I'm not worried about it.
