My power button (lower right button) quit working last week and it has been at the Samsung Plano repair center for the last week. Thankfully it was still under warranty. Does anyone have experience on how they handle these type of issues? Do they actually open it up and fix, issue a refurbished watch, or just send back a new watch? I got notification that I have a UPS delivery scheduled from Samsung tomorrow and I am curious what I'll find in the box.

I think it depends on what is needed. Most of time I hear you get a different item back. Luckily for me, it's in my neighborhood. Nice campus.

Did you get it from Samsung direct? A year ago I had a defective Gear S2 I got through my carrier Tmobile. It overheated and shut down. In atore they lrocessed a warranty exchange-ended upbgwtting a refurbiahed S3 for replacement just a couple days later.

An update - I got the watch back (same one I sent in). I did not get it from Samsung direct, I purchased it from a friend (LTE- Verizon version) but opted not to activate the mobile service. On the report they sent back Samsung indicated that they had to replace the motherboard, LCD assembly and the battery. So it was not a simple power button mechanism issue. That would not have been good news if it was outside the warranty! I have it back now and I'll report if there are any more issues.

Also had to send mine in. My battery drain was extremely excessive. Taking it off charger at 100%(most times it stayed at 98%), it would drain 2% A MINUTE! On a call with Samsung, it went from 100% to 70% on a 10 minute phone call sitting on the desk not in use. Still on Tizen 2.2.... not 3.0.

Samsung replaced the battery, motherboard, and lcd. So it's basically a brand new watch. Good thing it was still under warranty.

That's good to hear. I haven't had any problems yet since getting it back. It drained pretty quickly the first day but after letting it drain and fully charging, it seems to be back to normal.
