There wasn't an official press release, it was from an AT&T employee in their forums. Stating due to the number of issues customers are having with the update on the regular S4, AT&T has decided to for go the 4.3 update and focus on releasing an update for KitKat in quarter 1 of 2014.

Well then I guess we'd be officially screwed....at least until they find a fix... my question is, isn't the OS for the Active almost identical to the S4 proper? Maybe it was the hardware differences that caused it to be unstable. In any case....KitKat better work for us on the S4 and you guys on the Active. They cant afford to botch that one.

This is ridiculous.. I just picked up an S4 Active (again) - I REALLY want to like this phone, I think it has great possibilities over my iOS device, but C' MON!!! What with 4.2?!? Why is it taking so long for 4.3???

Just tried it, said "update interrupted" and now I have to wait another 24 hours.

Just advance the clock on your phone ahead 24 hours and try again. It doesnt notice I've been told that the phone runs smoother and the keyboard doesnt double tap as much, which I noticed it did do alot while texting his mom from it the other day.

Really...you think you're going to see any functional difference between 4.2.2 and 4.3. ? No, I think not.
You'll get a couple of barely different features and that'll be pretty much it.
Now...if my phone was to suddenly stop echoing to everyone who calls me calls me calls me, that would be worth any upgrade. Always keep my BT handy so people can speak to me echo free....never even dipped the thing in water either!

Wow!!! I am glad they decided to go ahead with the 4.3 update. The AT&T reps in the AT&T forum are still saying AT&T is skipping 4.3. I am downloading it now. Keeping my fingers crossed it isn't buggy like before.


Tried 3 times. It downloads successfully every time, says it has to restart to install, so I restart and it gets to 22% and says updating, then fails. All 3 times it fails at the exact same percentage. Anyone else having this problem?

I am having the exact problem you are having. At 22% it says the update fails and takes me to the home screen. Frustrating!
