S4 after LP update

I'm on VZ, updated to LP and I have mixed emotions.

One thing i dislike is having to double tap the home button when viewing multiple windows, instead of just taping the open space on the home screen.

More importantly, it freezes and crashes at least a few times for every charge cycle. Chrome and Android Central are the biggest offenders.

I have gotten better battery life, just a little over 5 hours SOT, though I'm not sure if that's due to LP, me removing battery doctor, or both.

Google keyboard was a big downgrade at first, but I've noticed it's getting better at recognizing my habits. Keyboard prediction, or whatever the technical term is, fascinates me.

I also like the aesthetics, specifically the new alarm clock and the new icons.

I'm glad they didn't just upgrade simply to upgrade a lot of things. The freezes and crashes are annoying, and I imagine I'll have the new Moto X or Nexus 2015 before it's fixed.

I use Nova and that, along with LP and TW integrate nicely. I have a Nexus 4 (which was in mint condition til yesterday when my son dropped it down the stairs and shattered it) so I'm able to compare stock, and actually prefer some of the TW features. What I hate though is the lag, but I don't store many photos, video or music so it's running smooth enough.

Overall it's a solid upgrade, though far from perfect. I really hope the next OS, which I'll call Marshmallow doesn't make any significant changes, but fixed some of the internal functions. I really hope they change having to rely on the home button so much.

What do you mean double tap home when viewing multiple windows? I only had to press it once to get to the recents and then once to go back. Is that what you're referring to?

As far as crashing...have you tried wiping the cache partition? Hold power + volume up + home at the same time (with the phone off) until it boots into recovery mode. Then scroll down to wipe cache partition using the volume buttons and use the power button to select the options

if you hold your home button down, all open windows come up. you used to be able to tap the open space to get you to the home screen.

I clear my cache about 1x every 2 weeks ... I didn't know your can clear it doing it the way you explained though. thx!

So yeah, the way I thought you meant. It's a minor annoyance, but I'll take that + the cards over their old way of doing it.

Let me know if wiping the cache works
