S4 Drama Shot (and other S4 features) on HTC One?

As an almost new owner of an HTC One (its being delivered tomorrow), I'm curious about how exclusive some of the features on the S4 are vs the HTC One and other phones. I know the exact S4 apps are actually exclusive, but how often are similar apps available as free or paid ware? Drama shot looks pretty cool on the S4, but I'm hoping there are some paid or free apps that do the same thing.

I guess the question really comes down to, should you buy Android phones based on the software, or the hardware? Are a lot of the 'exclusive' tweaks Samsung makes available on Google Play and other app stores?

Thanks.. Looking forward to the new phone. I've been a long time iPhone user (since the beginning) and used Windows CE and Palm before that.

HTC One has the "Sequence" shot which is similar to the drama shot. Google translate from the Play Store is similar to their translate software. Not sure about the "air" stuff. HTC does not have that, but I'm not sure how many people would be using it.

Look into Zoes and what can be done with them. I don't think every feature on the S4 is on the One's camera but if you learn about Zoes and highlight videos you might be surprised what camera features HTC has exclusive.

What usually happens is that 3rd party developers create an apps that do the same thing. The perfect example is the "eye stay" feature which was originally was a Samsung feature but now there are handful of apps that emulate that feature. Even multi-window apps are beginning to show up for non-samsung phones. I'm sure that all the camera features will be copied at one point but you may have to use a different camera app for each feature and you'll have to wait til they get around to it.

When you use Zoe mode, after taking your Zoe you can then do all the cool things that Samsung is advertising. Object removal, sequence shot, always smile or best smile...
I'm not sure why this wasn't promoted as much on the One but they're there and work really well.
Also, I think on the S4 you have to pre select the modes vs being able to edit after. If so, since I haven't tried the S4 first hand, it would seem counter intuitive to me.

Can't do the drama shot item as well, or I remove people from an image. There is some photo manipulation going on beyond what Zoe can do I believe. (Only played w/ Zoe for a day though).
