Hi

Galaxy S4 running kitkat just will not lock onto GPS.

GPS is turned on and i have also tried the following;

1. All GPS apps, none will lock on.

2. Checking the screws with the back cover off. None were loose.

3. Factory reset.

4. No Yahoo weather apps are installed.

GPS used to lock on fine a few weeks ago so something has changed, I suspect. But what?

Any ideas anyone? Thanks!

Try:

Open the Phone, as if you were going to make a phone call and dial -
*#9090# -- Diagnostic Configuration (*#197328640# if that doesn't work)
Menu, select Key Input, enter Q
Menu, select Key Input, enter 0000
wait for the next menu. (It takes a while.)
UMTS->COMMON->NV REBUILD->NV REBUILD->SYSTEM->PROTOCOL->GPS->IMS
or, if you don't have UMTS:
UE SETTINGS & INFO->SETTING->SYSTEM->NV REBUILD->ALL

Restart the phone.

Hi, thanks for the above, really appreciate your time.

However, I'm in the "ServiceMode" screen i then hit the menu key > Key Input and type in "Q Menu" but nothing appears to happen. I then proceed with Menu > Key Input and enter "0000" in the pop up window but nothing appears to happen. Even after 10 minutes or so.

I don't see anything relating to UMTS.

Am i doing something wrong?

Ah ok, my bad...now got to the UMTS > COMMON > NV Rebuild but then the only options available to me are;

1. Load Default NV
2. Erases All EFS1/2/3!
3. Make Back-up
4. Restore Back-up
5. Erase only Backup

------------------------
Golden-Backup exist
You can Restore Cal/NV
------------------------

I cannot get to NV REBUILD->SYSTEM->PROTOCOL->GPS->IMS

Hi and many thanks for coming back to me. Appreciate your time with this frustrating problem.

I hit the LOAD DEVAULT NV which appears to have completed, the phone then automatically rebooted.

Would you recommend anything else at this stage?
