S4 Mini 4.4.2 Sound Issue

Howdy all,

Phone worked great for months and months. Then, when I make or receive a phone call, something turns down the volume - can barely hear anything. But, volume control shows max volume. When I reboot it, it works okay again.

Can't find a setting that would possibly address this issue. Have removed several apps that are involved with sound but problem isn't corrected.

Maybe I missed removing the right app. Maybe I haven't ran across the faulty setting.

Any clues would be appreciated.
