My website Dakota FlameRiders has mp3 music files embedded. My phone (android 4.2.2) does not see that the mp3s are even there.

My email is an Outlook IMAP account. I received an email with an mp3 attached. The mp3 does not show as an attachment. The attachment shows as winmail.dat 4.6 MB.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Maybe try another email? Have you tried transfering the files via a PC as well?

BUT......I found I can forward the Outlook email (which DOES NOT SHOW an mp3 file attached) to my Gmail address and the mp3 IS attached and plays.

It's the e-mail client then. Outlook must not support MP3 files as attachments

Sent from my Galaxy S4 running SlimKat 4.4.2

And for good reasons too.

Sent from my AT&T One X running CodefireX ROM Android Version 4.4.

Email part of the problem solved. Downloaded a "winmail.data opener app" for android. It "decodes" the .data file and shows its correct file name and extension then allows it to be opened with the music player.

Now, gotta work on the website issue in Chrome.
