S4 randomly reboots or shuts off with a little pressure

I noticed this happening to my phone when i switch cases or sometimes just setting the phone on the table or putting it in my pocket and thought it was just my phone. Came across this video on youtube just now with someone having the exact same issue. Does this happen to anyone else?

Not I. I'd bring it back!

I never mess with companies regarding the phone. If it's under warranty gimmie my replacement if it's not working 100% the way it should. These things are too expensive for crap like this.

I'm pretty certain that this is a warranty issue and not a user issue. In other words, you don't need insurance to return a phone for a factory defect. You bring it back (or call your carrier) and tell them what's happening and that you want a replacement. Your warranty should be [at least] a year.

I've been having the same issue on 2 TMo S4s after replacing the first one, so I'm assuming it's a HW issue that's more widespread. The power button just seems to be super sensitive. Very annoying.

My friend has the exact same issue, her phone is only around 3 weeks old, and just randomly reboots when she's texting, watching videos anything really..
I'm not sure why, but she's taking hers back to the store and demanding a replacement, try that?

maybe a loose battery? If I take the cover off, I can tap the phone and the battery will fall out. I don't have your problems with it, but maybe that's got something to do with it?

It's not a loose battery. It'll happen once in a while when I'm wearing tight jeans, or putting pressure on a certain spot when handling the phone. Like changing the case for example.

The weird thing though is once I figured out how exactly to reproduce the issue it got extra sensitive and rebooted more often but after I made this thread I haven't been able to reproduce the rebooting since.

Happens to me randomly. Doesn't require much pressure either. Happened to me last night when I was using my phone, just swiping around as normal. I didn't squeeze it, or mash it hard, just rebooted randomly. Has happened about 4-5 times in the last week.

Aye. Had the same issue with my S4, so I called T-Mobile and complained.

They're shipping me a new S4 immediately.

I just got my s4 3 days ago. I have spent 3 days of my life messing with this phone due to the re-boot issue. Spoke with Samsung live chat last night. Did a total factory reset. This morning with a full charge, just picked up the phone and guess what ...it re-booted. It has re-booted no fewer than 6 times this morning while doing email, trying to set up my corporate email. I'm done. I'm going back to Verizon tonight and getting a replacement. I'm done with Samsung. I'm getting some other phone.
