S5 Fingerprint Scanner: Easy one hand use

14 times later it recognized my side swipe thumb motion.

It gets my straight down index finger every single time.

It is absolutely not ok with it not being straight down. That and the "swipe the entire pad" error are the two I get most often. I can't roll my thumb enough for this phone. My thumb muscle literally hurts from trying to "swipe the entire pad". It's dumb. I'm turning it off again because it's really frustrating and angering me that it won't work.

The fact that it's not consistent from one user to the next is a fail. I haven't done enough looking, but I'd be surprised if Apple has this problem. My fiancee has not one single time complained about it on her 5S. I don't remember the last time a feature of a phone has frustrated me so much.

Okay. I spent another 20 minutes but this time I tried it without the case (got it free).

In the process there must be a slight delay/pause? I don't know...

Anyways, I finally got my thumbs registered! Now will it work when I need to unlock my phone. LOL :(

Seriously, this is a joke.

Do it right *Apple*Touch*ID* or don't do it at all!!!

It works great for me. I've registered both of my thumbs sideways and I also registered my index finger for when my phone is lying on a table or something. I'd say it works over 90 percent of the time. Sorry you other guys aren't having much luck.

I finally figured it out. I kept getting tons of errors and now after messing with the fingerprint scanner for 20 minutes to make it work easy you have to apply lots of pressure. Not enough to push the button but a lot more than I was doing for the past few days. I have no problem now.
