S5 Microphone speaker not working ONLY when making and receiving calls. Works in loudspeaker mode.

[Android Central Question]

A few days ago the microphone and speaker stopped working when making and receiving calls. If I turn on loudspeaker I can hear and talk to the caller.

The speaker and microphone work fine for everything else, such as playing music, using the Voice Recorder, etc.

I couldn't find any settings that would fix this. I searched online for this type of problem and tried the suggested fixes but none worked. I then updated to the latest software version and the problem was fixed.

Then 2 days later the problem has re-appeared. Any suggestions please?

Hi, welcome !
I was hoping in safe mode it would work , then you could try find the app causing this. Only I can suggest is take it in to a phone repair center see what they say .

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- when you make a regular non-speakerphone call, the other person can't hear you AND you can't hear them over the earpiece speaker?

It's worth trying a factory reset. If that doesn't help, then try reinstalling the firmware using either Smart Switch or Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html
