S5 Photos missing, how can I get them back?

S5 Photos missing . HELP

Hey.
So I got a new S5 through my insurance as my original one broke. On the original phone my pictures would always backup to Google photos immediately after I took them. Therefore I wasn't worried about losing them. Also I did not have a memory card in the original phone.
When I got this new phone and logged into my Google photos. Almost 3/4 of my pictures were gone. I logged in online and it showed the same problem. I really need them back for work. Is there anyway to get them back

Same thing happened to me. Switched phones from LGG2 to S5. Guy at the store transferred all my data. But. All the pics in my Gallery were gone. Found them in MY FILES. DEVICE STORAGE. All in one folder called g2. Made new folders in Gallery & moved it all.
