s5 requires update to kitkat.

Purchased the phone through AT&T, then switched to Straight Talk. Receiving messages from AT&T to do required update, but I'm on Straight talk. Is it safe to proceed, or should I be worried about apn settings and restrictions?

I posted in your other thread... But yes you should be fine. You may have to reset the apn settings.

I went the other way from Straight Talk to ATT. The reason I left Straight Talk was because they do not update their phones. Assume you just got a sim from ST so you may be okay. I would check with them first to be safe. Also since you would have to get your update from ATT it is possible that ST may not handle all the features.
