S6 Edge Getting Hot?

yes we are experiencing up normal heat on the phone while we use it talking or while it charging
i hope this phone will not react on our face or hands

we are realty scare to use this phone normally.

I've had my S6 Edge since release. When I did the initial setup it did get hot to the point of painful to hold/touch. I figured it was just overworking the CPU so didn't think too much of it. Since then though I notice it gets excessively hot at least several times throughout the week if not the day. I haven't had any screen rotation issues, but occasionally my camera will give me an error and not let me use the flash due to excessive heat. Sometimes the heat build-up is during camera or GPS use, but other times I simply take it out of my pocket and find it hot. I installed GSAM today. It was already starting to cool down when the app installed, and I got a reading of 100 F. An hour or so has passed and I would say it is at it's standard "cool" temperature, and reading 87 F. I'm curious to get a reading once it is at the point when I usually hold it in front of my car AC vent to cool it down. Ambient temperature during the day has been between 65-80, but this heating does occur on cool days and evenings as well. I may try to see if I can exchange it, or perhaps I'll try the factory reset "fix". As a final note, I have been unhapy with the battery life of the Edge. It could be heat drain related, or it could be because my previous phone was the Droid Maxx which was known for its battery life. But, I have issues making it to the afternoon without needing to charge it even with standard usage which seems unacceptable. I love the look, design, and performance (usually), but I'm still having regrets. Hopefully this can be fixed.

Like my previous Samsungs, my Edge gets hot when my signal is poor. Sometimes rebooting helps.

Update: while cable charging last night it got VERY hot! Highest reading I saw was 114 F (45.5 C). Definitely cannot be normal in my opinion.

I was having this problem as well. I did a factory reset and the phone running much smoother with mich better battery life.

i have the s6 edge always very hot.....doesn't seem to cool down. this morning after charged, it can't even be turned on.
anyone can help asap?
local service center wouldn't take a look as i bought it overseas.....

mine is an ATT Next Plan phone , after a few months use , it was too laggy and way too hot

i just backup my profile and data , reset the phone , and it is better now

On my third Edge after first 2 fried. I mean really bad heat, super bad battery life and soooo slow. Believe it or not though, the 3rd time is the charm. After 8 days, very little heat, good to above average battery life and no more lag. Take home message, keep taking it back till you get one that works.

Mine heats up to 110 degrees, draining at 40% per hour when im in a dead zone with no signal.. Have to turn off mobile data for it to cool off. Why is it working so hard to find a signal my gosh!. My S4 wasnt this bad. Sometimes it gets hot just in my pocket. No apps showing high use in GSAM monitor either. IM ON DAY 12 OF TRIAL PERIOD!!! Gonna try turning off sync and restrict background data and wipe the cache/partition. Stay tuned

Re: S6 Edge Getting Hot and battery life

hi guys, as you can see people are talking about they have issues with the SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE
There are two main problems
1: less battery timming
2:charger or phone becomes hot
But SAMSUNG also gives solution for these problems
Guys i am also user of S6 EDGE,ITS AN AMAZING phone...i had same problems with my phone, but after i try some solutions, problem becomes solved...i have some personel experienced tips and tricks, i am sure that these solutions can solve your problem
FIRST PROBLEM SOLUTION
(1) use power saving mode
(2)go to your WIFI settings, then touch on the up right corner option (more), as you can see there is an option for (keep wifi on during sleep) touch on the option never,
There is an also option for (allow scanning)
Choose an option of (scan only when wifi is on
(3)go to your location settings, touch on the option locating method, and choose the of (over wifi and mobile data) touch on it
(4)go to smart manager app, then touch on the ram settings, select option of manage
*apps ,now you can improve your battery perfomance by forcing some applications to** stop running background automatically,
(As you use some applications, after 10 minutes these apps are force to stop automatically this is an amazing feature for your battery timming)
(5)if you are travelling for a long way then you can use ultra power saving mode, then you can use your phone about 1 and half a day,(in this mode you can only recieves calls and messages, screen becomes grey, wifi and mobile data become off)
I HOPE if you try these tips and tricks u have no problem with your phone's battery life
SECOND PROBLEM
if your phone or charger becomes hot during charging dont worry it is due to fast charging..it doesnt damage your phone
Your phone or charge only become hot during the 60% charge , after 60 % your phone become cool down
If you really dont want your phone to do this then you can use wireless charger or use some other phone's usb or adapter or use your original SAMSUNG charger by plugging in your latop or PC USB
Thanks hope its helpful

Exactly the same case with my SM G925I. I put it down on my table to set it up. Highest temperature 39c
Try updating or a factory reset, mine was fixed by an update. Now temperature ranges 25-33 (Sri Lankan Standard Temperature causes some overheating also)

All phones get hot. Just like all comatters and. Network servers. If theirs doesn't they probably don't use it to heavily or have it in there hands while charging.

But this temperature is painful. That's what which makes the difference.

Just wanting to hear what everybody has experienced for device temperature so far. When I was setting my phone up I noticed it got almost unbearably hot (to the point it was making the palm of my hand sweat and the metal edge on the power button was pretty hot). Now mind you this was while restoring from my previous device and getting it set up, but I still feel like this might have been abnormal and want to see what everybody else has noticed so far.

I believe it could also be due to the glass backing. No previous S model had a glass backing and glass does not retain heat the way plastic would, it expels it. This could have something major to do with the heat.

Why dont you download that GSAM App and let us know the actualy Temperature of the phone?

Mines goes between 23-30 Celcious depending on what im doing.
My s6 edge's temp is 26-39 celcious while charging,is it normal?
