Rumors suggest Samsung will be announcing a 5.5" edge plus version in a couple weeks. What would make you consider buying one?

For me, the regular S6 is more appealing than the edge, but ultimately, I chose to pass on both mostly because of the sealed battery. If this supposed plus version came with a 3200+ mAh battery, I'd reconsider.

At the moment, I prefer the G4, but this might tip the scale in the other direction. I'm obviously taking this rumor with a grain of salt, but its certainly got my attention.

I'm on a Nexus 6 and live the big screen but I think 5.5" would be the sweet spot. Having used a Maxx, Z3v, and Nexus, I'm spoiled by having a battery last the whole day with moderate use, hopefully the plus has at least 3000mah. I also hope the Snapdragon rumor is true.

4.7 to 5.1 is my sweet spot. I actually got the edge over the normal S6 because it felt a little smaller in the hand.

This is probably the Galaxy Mega successor. I have been known to be wrong though (that's what my wife tells me).

I could't use another big phone.

Having used the Nexus 6, then the 6+, and finally the Note 4, I just can't use big screened phones efficiently. I got the s6 edge because of the size primarily. Being able to efficiently use it one handed was top priority after coming from those giant phones.

Nothing really would merit a swap for that. Not even a giant battery like the note4/nexus.

I saw this, not quite sure why they need a plus version when they have the note line. I know Sammy is famous for over saturation of phones in every possible segment but I thought they were giving that up.

Exactly...the S6 is about as large a phone as I really want to carry around. I had an M8 for a few months, and it was the first phone I really felt was too big for my taste (because of the extra height).

But wasn't the mega a midrange device?

Yes it was. I could be off base. Who knows. Have to wait and see.

I had a Note 3. Great phone, but it was a little unwieldy. I like the S6 edge size. But if this giant phone has specs like the S6… and you like gargantuan phones, then it may be a dream come true.

Isn't that a note? Why cannibalize themselves?

There are lots of people who own the Note and never/rarely use the S-Pen and only really bought it for the larger screen. Having the S-Pen and it's added software is unnecessary for those customers. Many would like just to have a larger S6 or a Note without the pen.

I think it would be smart for Samsung. They essentially would have an S6 and a larger S6 and then the Note is considered the specialty product for those that want those features.

Personally I doubt that rumor though and agree it will likely end up being a less powerful Mega series. But I think it would be cool if it did end up being a larger S6. I'd consider grabbing one. I don't have a need for the S-Pen...at least not until it gets wacom level of accuracy and more apps support it.

I just don't want them using S6 in the name of it unless it's going to get S6 level or better internal specs.

Im sure people will buy it, but i downsized from a note and intuition to a turbo and now the edge. So for me this size is butter 💃
