When I got home this evening, I went to check on something in my Galaxy S6 "Gallery," and there was NOTHING. I clicked on "Photos," and empty as well. I checked "My Files," same story. I panicked, luckily, I was able to connect to my PC, and download everything to my HD.

SO the photos are there, I just can't see them, at all. Photos downloaded, photos taken, anything at all, just gone. I have not updated anything recently. I'm dumbfounded as to what happened.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Were you backing them up anywhere? On Google photos or Samsung Gallery or OneDrive or Drive?

To answer your question, I was not backing them up anywhere. Nor was I doing anything in particular at the time of the disappearance. Crazy thing is, I transferred them all to my laptop last night, after I thought they were gone from my phone. Then today, while speaking with Verizon, force stopped the gallery, and cleared the data and cache for it. Came home tonight, expecting to just be able to transfer the photos back onto the phone, they're STILL ON the phone. Yet nothing shows up in the gallery. I don't have to transfer the photos back to the phone, because when I plug it into my laptop, they're on the phone as files.

I have no idea.

Either restart the phone or run media.Re.Scan. If you start with no pictures, then copy pictures to the phone, Gallery will still be looking at the Media Scan database that was created when you turned the phone on (or the last time you restarted), so it won't see the copied pictures. You have to make Media Scan rescan for pictures for them to appear in Gallery.

Rukbat, I tried the app you suggested, to no avail.

I think somehow my gallery app is just "broken?" I downloaded a photo off Amazon Drive, selected gallery to open, it opened, but when I backed out of it, nowhere to be found. New photos/screenshots I have taken since everything disappeared the other night show up, but nothing prior to the mysterious wipe.

Called Verizon, their tech basically claims a complete reset of the phone is all she can think of at this point, never encountered this previously.
