As always with rooting:
- Check to make sure you need to unlock your bootloader or not. If you do need to, this will 100% wipe your device, so back up any and all data you don't want to lose.
- Read several times. If you aren't sure of something, ask first. Rooting is not something that needs to be done right now. It is much better to wait a few days and get the procedure right than spend a sleepless night fixing a mistake.
