AC Question

please help. My daughter has had repeated 'samsung keyboard has stopped' messages, so she switched her phone fully off, and because when it goes fully off, you have to input your typed password, she can't now do anything with the phone to access settings. Everything sends her back to the enter your password homescreen. I've even tried to do a remote wipe via android manager, but this won't work as I need to authorise it on her phone! I found another thread that said hold the home key, power button and volume key down and it should bring up something - I did that, and now it's downloading ODIN mode??? I have no idea what this is, and I'm completely out of my depth and panicking....Please, please help? - Ruth

Hello, I am very un-techy, and learning how to use this forum! I couldn't get it on to safe mode. It now has the blue ODIN download page showing, with a 'do not turn off target' message.

I have found another thread that told me how to get out of odin mode, which is a relief, but I am back to where I started - I can't do a factory reset, or power off, as these all require me to sign in to authorise

But what about booting into Safe Mode, as suggested previously? If that doesn't help, then you could try using a basic USB keyboard with an OTG adapter, which should at least get you past the lockscreen. After that, try installing a 3rd party keyboard from the Play Store.

You could also try wiping the cache partition from Recovery: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21095
