The update for 6.0.1 popped up today and as always i updated it pretty much right away, everything installed just fine, but after the update my phone shuts down, freezes or reboots 30-60s after booting up, things i have tried so far:

Clearing the cache
Factory reset
Running in safe mode

Have tried all of the above and nothing works, after the factory reset i cant even get past the initial setup menu where you have to select language and so on, the phone either just shuts down or reboots before i can do anything.

Have anyone else suffered from this or am i just unlucky? Just wanted to hear, seems like the only solution is gonna be taking it down to the store.

Also the phone have never been rooted or anything like that, i did that with my S3 and i had nothing but problems, so this time the S6 have been running stock from day 1.

There have been quite a few posts about problems with the S6 Marshmallow update, and it seems not to be limited to just one carrier. Which carrier do you have?

I have the carrier 3 in Denmark, the update just came out today, so i guess it could just be a faulty update, i gave the phone to the company today since everything i tried just didnt work, we even tried a factory reset while at the store and the phone still just reboots or shuts down every few mins after that.

Me too. Shut down three times in 20 minutes this morning. I'm on VZW. Never had this problem before. Good to know that a factory reset won't change things because that saves a lot of time and aggravation. I would suck it up and do it if it worked, but it doesn't sound like it will. And it's running so slow at times. Something is definitely not right and it's irritating.

I have also encountered the constant rebooting issue after upgrading my S6 Edge to Marshmallow 6.0.1.

The problem seems to disappear when I enable the "power-saving mode" via the drop-down control panel.

However, when I enable the power-saving mode, a whole bunch of other problems appear:
- Google voice recognition fails on first attempt (cannot contact Google)
- Google Play music streaming is interrupted when the phone's screen turns off
- I don't get any notifications from my applications when the phone's screen is off

I've read elsewhere that the S6 edge may have CPU issues when running at full speed - the power-saving mode reduces the CPU speed which fixes the instability.
It also cuts off many of the S6's data communication channels as well, and that causes the other problems.

The situation is pretty frustrating, and I have not found a good solution yet.

So, what did the store finally do to help you correct the problem? Did they have a solution or did you leave with a no correction?

I have the same problem with my Galaxy S6.
I'm Cristian from Chile. I'll really apreciate if you have any news about this problem.
When I enable the Power Saving Mode, the problem persist.
I have tried with 3 different oparators and the problem persist.
I did some testing without a sim card, and the problems still persist.
I also did some benchmark and cpu and ram testing, but the phone amazingly DID NOT fail on those tests...
I think the problem is related to
