S6 very hot overheating

I use my s6 a lot for games texts etc never had a problem with overheating after the latest update I hit temps of 180 yes 180 nothing is running I use WIfi primarily but am still having problems just wondering when everyone's problems with heart started

Are you guys using cases? Certain cases can prevent enough heat from radiating. With dual-glass sides, the S6 should be able to radiate substantial heat to keep the internals cool.

The original one I had was overheating without a case and the replacement runs cool even with a case on

The first unit I had started overheating right away after purchase, no issues with the replacement.

On a semi-related note: Skype will drain the battery in ~30 minutes and the phone gets really hot in that amount of time... *glares at Microsoft*

So to follow up the culprit was snapchat if I close the program completely no problems at all of I leave it open in the background phone instantly overheats

Mine has been doing it the temperature has been up 110 degrees on the phone. I have the put the phone down because it would get so hot. I have a new one coming today but it is weird. Even in safe mode the phone would get hot. I am hoping the new phone resolves the issue.

I had a similar experience from the first day I bought the Galaxy S6. After two days I upgraded it to Marshmallow 6.0.1 and suddenly the overheating disappeared! And even the battery life got longer So try this if you still have Lollipop on it.

guys i had the same issue. i downloaded 360 security because it was one of the most popular. i didnt know it had feautures to stop battery draining and overheating. it solved my issues mostly. but be aware it stops some unused app from automatically running but you can setup what to use and what not. no overheating for me anymore. peace
