S6 vs G4 - Which is better?

Re: S4 vs G6 - Which is better?

Having had a Note 4 before the S6E, I can definitely say that the S6 is more fluid than previous TW. A wireless charging case does exist, if wireless charging is very important to you. The Verizon S6 is $600, Verizon G4 is $550. They are close enough in price, imo, that price should not be a deciding factor.

It depends on how you define "timely manner". I would expect that it would get it, similar to when say the Note 4 or G3 got lollipop.

How long until it got lollipop?

Is one going to be better for games? Also does wireless charging work through a case?

My word, RavenSword, by the time you've done choosing, they'll have moved on to the S7 and the G5. :)

Re: S6 vs G4

I would tend to agree with 1-4, but isn't LG better at providing faster software updates for their flagship phones. I maybe wrong since I don't use LG, but they seem to be pretty fast on getting software updates to their users. Seems like I am always waiting on Samsung.

One of the biggest factors for you maybe size. The G4 is bigger than the S6. You may prefer the larger screen on the G4 or you may prefer the smaller size of the S6. I would go and try both and see what you prefer.

Samsung stepped up their game this year with Lollipop, so I tend to favor them at this time for updates.

Re: S4 vs G6 - Which is better?

At this moment I believe I'm leaning more towards the S6. I hear the screen is amazing, which is something I want since I watch a good amount of videos on the phone. Also I hear it is just a bit snappier, but that seems to be debatable. I honestly don't care about see cards and removable batteries. The battery life is troubling, but hopefully that can be fixed with updates. Also, it does have quick charging and I can always just bring my battery pack for extra long days. And I'm just gonna throw the Google now launcher on this anyway, so touchwiz isn't a deal breaker.

Go get it done. Do an unboxing video. Let us know how it goes.

Another option could be the Moto x. It's a lot cheaper and pretty much stock android. But would it be better to get a newer phone to be more future proof?

Are you looking for best or for cheapest?

But I don't know what the best is
There is no objective best. Based on he criteria and usage you've mentioned, I agree with your earlier idea that the s6 is most suited for you. Once you get a device, all other devices are irrelevant and only your happiness with your chosen device matters.

Yeah, I like everything about the s6 except battery life. I'm real worried it won't get me through a day and I'll have to use my external battery pack or charger during the day.

Honestly there is no perfect phone. There will always be something about whatever phone you have that you may say "I don't like this" but that's okay. I get wanting the absolute best but at some point you have to draw the line otherwise you will just keep going in circles over and over.

Base on your criteria I'd go mess around with a G4. It has what you like and a replaceable battery that you can swap on the fly so if it died during the day you'd be good.

Well, I'm also going to be throwing the nexus 6 in this mix because I am not sure I can give up stock android and timely updates. Even if it's bigger than maybe I'd like. I'm just worried it's a bit old now.

Eh, I hear it lags. Honestly, I value performance, UI, battery life, and updates.

If you want timely updates then Nexus is your only bet. Others are always behind.
