S7 and Android auto play

hello all, I just had the new pioneer avinc nex 8200 installed in my truck ad the android auto works fine except for the fact that it does not allow me to adjust the alert volume as to when a text comes thru, although the phone rings and I can talk thru the system as well. I'm wondering if there is a setting on this galaxy that is not allowing the auto play to get full access to the controlls. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
