Why is Android System still the #1 battery drain on the S7 Edge, even beating out the power consuming screen?

I'm wondering the same thing. Android system and android os are taking more than 50% at times. Still better battery life, but I'm wondering what to do to fix that

Not good for me. Took phone off charger 6am and it's 756pm now. But I've only had the phone a little over 24 hours. Here is where I stand at the moment. 22% battery left and my screen on time is only 1hr 37m 57 sec. Android System is using 41% of the battery smh. And I havent really been using the phone much. This may be a deal breaker for my uses. But will give it a fair 13 day chance.

Android System is the largest drainer for me as well! I used Disabler Pro to disable almost everything I don't use. Running Nova so that's the last thing I can think of. Anyone figure out why it's such a large drain on the battery

Gsam monitor says I'm averaging over 16 hours with 8-1/2 screen on time. Extremely happy with that.

Ok I unplugged mine at 2pm mine says 9h 23m 50s on battery. It says estimated time remaining 2 h 56 minutes but I haven't fully set up my phone and I don't even think I have syncing turned on yet. But yours says 15h 27m and you have 19% left I am down to 23% Does that mean I have done more on my phone? My screen time on says 5h 2m 56s computer power usage 724mAh is that decent. I guess as long as I get 8 hours while at work I'm good but I always have a charger with me. I just want to get the most out of my battery. I need to go to the tips and tricks thread. Android system says 30% and Screen says 22% and Android OS 14%

How does it compare in real life use not just specs vs the stellar 6s Plus which I own? I want the Edge but not if its a worse battery

You're getting excellent battery life. 5 hours of SOT with 23% is pretty good.

For hard users what is the screen on time like?

I only got 2h 39m and I'm at 33% today. Granted I was on the phone for 5 hours and tweaking my phone since I received it yesterday. Yesterday, after the initial set up, I only used the phone for about 2 hours and managed to squeeze out ~4h of SOT with ~15% remaining.

This has probably been the biggest thing I've noticed upgrading from a vastly older phone (GNex)..... 6 Hours of what I would consider heavy usage (but still not nearly 100% constant usage), lots of web browsing, downloading, and very heavy screen on time, and I'd have had to recharge my old phone twice to keep it running... This thing barely dropped 25%.... and that's not even considering the screen is much larger, runs at a higher resolution, and holy hell even toned down to 20% is still like 4x brighter than my old phone was at maximum brightness.

Super thrilled thus far with battery life, and after reading many of these posts, it seems I can still look forward to it getting even better from here, as the phone gets broken in.

Just got mine yesterday .

Set it up .

Didn't charge over night .

Had say 50% battery life

When I woke up had 14%

Did a lot of downloading etc.

Charged it up fully now.

So let's see.

So far I'm impressed.

Battery has to just get better from here

Takes about a week for the phone to season in so you won't get many accurate reports, just yet. I can tell you right now though I use my S7E much more for shenanigans compared to my 6S+ and they're both at around 20% (S7E 19%, 6S+ 21%) right now. They were both taken off the charging pad at the same time this morning.

On my 4th cycle now. It seems the battery is starting to rock now. Hope I can get 6hr SOT today.

So, since I got my edge, the battery life Seemed terrible and it was always super hot when using it. I checked battery usage and "media" was unbelievable high for battery usage, even immediately after unplugging the phone from charger. Decided to unmount my SD card and it stopped the issue. Any thoughts? Must be Something bad on my sd card? The SD card has all of my photos, videos and about 8,000 songs that I was using in my S5 and just popped into the edge. Thanks for any help.

I've had the phone 5 days now. I've been using it pretty heavily (because it's new). Every day I've had around 5 hrs SOT with around 20-25% battery left so would expect 6 hours SOT.

Nearly every other phone I've had has been done at around 4 hours SOT (xperia Z2 and S6 Edge a little more but not 6) including all Nexus devices (I've owned all but 6 and 6p), HTC One and One M7, Moto X Styel (around 4.5) etc...

So, I'm happy.

My first day is no indication... but to be honest as long as it gets me thru the day even with 5% left at the end I am going to be great. I have wireless charging everywhere... Work, Car, Home bedroom and living room.
