OK, wife and I both got new Galaxy S7 Edge phones last week and just tried to use the hotspot while traveling today and was able to connect her laptop to the phone, but it doesn't show in the list of connected devices and every web site she tries to sign into just times out before connecting.

BTW, we are on Verizon and we tried my phone when we got home and get the same results with my laptop or her's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have any spaces in your hotspot network name? I did and it wouldn't show in the list of available networks from my laptop. Replaced the spaces with underscore and then it showed up and could be used.

Thanks for the reply. The phone's hotspot shows on the laptop and we are able to select it, enter the password and the laptop shows that it is connected. It will download her gmail, she can go to google, but any other web sites just timeout before they connect.

Also, the computer does not show on the phone's hotspot list of connected devices. Very puzzling. I'm sure that there is a simple solution, but right now it evades me. :-

Well, after spending 2 hours on the phone with 2 Verizon techs, we finally determined that the dhcp was not turned on on both our laptops. Everything is as it should be now.

:D
