I noticed that Verizon is selling the galaxy S7 edge for only $15 a month. May seem like a silly question but being almost 9 or 10 months old now is it worth buying an android this far into the lifecycle?i'm predominately an iPhone user but have heard how awful Verizon is about updating their phones so I'm just concerned that buying an S7 edge at this point might not be a good deal.

Old as the S7 Edge is, its still better overall than 99% of its rivals, its just a far more complete package overall.

I have no clue WRT Verizon, I am not in the USA, maybe look at other carrier deals? But you can't go wrong with the S7E, that is for sure. :)

More than agree love this phone. I also was more of an iPhone user but since I've had this my 7 plus has taken a back seat a little bit.

The only other challenger at the high end of the Android market is the Pixel. I'm sure the Pixel is a solid phone, but just coming off it's predecessor (nexus 6P), I think the S7E would be the better choice, personally. After owning the Note 7 for a short time and now the S7E, all the flat screen phones just seem kind of retro to me now. Just no sex appeal. And the Sammy AMOLED screen is just beautiful. The expandable memory and water resistance are just icing on the cake.

Another thing I learned while on the 6P, my first Google phone, is that being the first to get the newest Android updates is not all it's cracked up to be. Often times, you end up being the Beta tester for Google. You can get some pretty big performance/battery life issues, apps break because they've not been updated to run on the newest release, etc. So Verizon taking more time to release updates can be a good thing if it means a nice stable experience.

Verizon certainly isn't giving the S7E away. They're selling this thing for $360, which is $15 per month for 24 months (you have to buy it on their device payment plan to get that price). Not a whole lot more than the $299 I paid to renew my two-year contract. You can't touch a device with all that this phone offers for the price, especially if you plan to remain with Verizon.

You're right about what you've heard about Verizon and updates. Compared to TMO or AT&T, they're slow as hell. The bonus for that, however, is that most of the bugs are gone by the time that Big Red finally pushes an update.

BTW, you have to look at the Blue Coral color. When you hold that one, it's over.

I got my blue carol on November 24th on Verizon. For the deal, this phone is still amazing and will be for the next 2 years. The advantage of buying 9 months into the cycle is you buy on deep discounts. IF money is not an issue for you, then you should wait for S8. If it is, this is a deal you want to take, no Brainer.

Same here. I was able to disable most of what I didn't want with Package Disabler Pro, so no need to root. Plus, this thing just works.

Yes with package disabler pro the phone runs fine and great battery life :-)
Sorry about the small screen shots :-(
