S7 might be my last samsung

California passed the no phone or electronic law a long time ago and it really makes no difference you see almost every one using daily they really need to crack down more.
Between school out for the Sumner with teen drivers and phone use its the highest time of year for accidents

Very true but I drive a commercial truck and State patrol loves to get us on even very minor infractions.

Actually, Google isn't problem at all. My work Moto z play droid works flawlessly and has for a year. But I had to give it up because I changed position. So does the Moto g5+ I got my mother. They both work without a problem every time. But the camera is so bad I don't want a Moto as my personal phone. But that battery life, oh do nice. And Samsung pay is something I use everyday to I don't want to give up Samsung. That is why I am waiting on the note to see what happens.

Sometimes there is a line where you just have to move on, like it or not. And since I drive for a living getting tickets can cost me my job.
I can almost guarantee you that the Note will be no different. Samsung is blocking ok Google on purpose. It's somewhat annoying.

I use a similar solution. Using the BlueAnt Commute 2 hands free speakerphone car kit, it is always listening. I speak the key word and it jumps directly to Google assistant. Absolutely no touching the speakerphone or the phone itself. I can make/receive calls and listen/reply/send text messages.

Because it still won't work. Trusted devices has nothing to do with the lock screen, just the password/fps.
Yes Bluetooth devices will work with Google even when screen locked.

Open Google app>Settings>Voice>Hands free>Allow when screen is locked>Bluetooth devices>turn that on.

Totally forgot about that. I used to use it all the time but my new Plantronics 5200 doesn't have it, or so I thought. They moved it to the mute button which is tiny and in a bad spot. Plus, when I use it when the screen is off it sends it to speakerphone, but not when the phone is on.
Why can't things just work?
