I have tried stock, and I went to my old standby Textra.

It has worked well but I am looking for other alternatives. I know sometimes text messages get jumbled and out of wack due to cell service and the like (I have sprint...) but, I am curious, if you use stock....or something else.

I have looked through the threads and really have not noticed too much, and did google searches....I was really curious what the people that actually use the phone, actually use.

I change my theme sometimes on my s7, so stock messaging can be a pain.

Currently, I have google messaging. Its ok, pretty dang plain.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I keep going back to Textra. Simple, Intuit, customizable. Plus it has Gif support, stock messenger does not. Also has send delay and scheduled messaging, Google messages does not. And I have never had any issue sending or recording SMS unlike hangouts or Verizon messages.

With gboard you can have gif support with almost any app! If you didn't know

Google Messenger basically sucks.
Stock would have been nice but lacks too many features.

Been using Textra for a while. Yaata is great, but I really can't get into it for long.

I am currently using google messanger. Its ok, nothing groundbreaking.
I will probably go back to Textra, just was curious what everyone thought.

Also, I heard with this RCS messanging that Sprint is getting...(whenever that is)...it will be like imessage for android....is that true? When will it come out?
Thanks.

I don't know if its the stock samsung text app or AT&T, but I get a LOT of "Message not sent" errors when I text. It's quite obnoxious. I also had really really bad keyboard lag when using the stock text app. I downloaded Textra a while back and I don't think I had as many errors. Then the free trial ended and I didn't feel like paying. I hardly text anyone anymore...I mostly stick to FB Messenger since just about everyone has it, and it has read receipts, rich functions like smileys and stickers that look the same on EVERY device. I hate texting people with iPhones and not being sure how a smiley would look on their phone compared to android. This is more of a rant about how bad the stock text app is, than any type of advice for the OP lol

Was using the basic samsung messages app until I realized you couldn't change the appearance. Moved to textra and liked it enough to spend my play store credit on it.

Oh I agree. I like Textra. I'm with stock right now. I will probably go back to Textra soon. I tried Google messanger today, handcent and yaata...No go.
