S8+ apps button wont turn off

[Android Central Question]

I had activated the apps button on my home screen.
settings - display - home screen - apps button - HIDE APPS BUTTON
I click on it and then apply. as soon as i put my finger on apply it goes back to the home screen menu. the setting does not take and the app button is still on the screen.

Any suggestions?
