S8 Bluetooth 5.0 + Airpods

I tried my airpods on the Verizon store demo unit. I can say that the airpods sound much better at least with the youtube app and the subaru commercial i listened to vs my iphone 7+.

Maybe the airpods are bluetooth 5.0 and that is why and if not bluetooth makes everything else sound great.

I did pre-order and I'm deciding weather to return them and use the AKG with the promo or the ones that come in the box.

Regardless the airpods sound great on the s8+ If I keep the airpods the AKG are going to be a gift.

Glad to hear it. Unless I'm flying, the Airpods are pretty much all I use these days. Was hoping they'd work well with the Galaxy.

If the Airpods are not BT 5.0 then I do not see the BT 5.0 would make any difference because the connection speed would be limited on the airpods end. I believe we might be seeing a placebo issue

I don't know if it is a placebo effect. I asked apple and they wouldn't release the BT version.

I know on my Nvidia K1 tablet Amazon prime video app sounds weaker with airpods vs iphone 7+. That's why I tried both same videos on S8+ and iphone 7+

It could very well be android or Samsung volume max limit is higher thank apples.

You also need Bluetooth 5 support on the receiving side as well so unless there is BT5 on the earphones it's moot.
