Hi all! My wife and I both have the S8. Our calendar is set up identically. On my phone the events from the outlook account show up as one event. However on her phone the outlook events randomly create multiple occurrences of the same event. Sometime up to 6 additional occurrences. I have researched high and low and I cannot figure it out. Please help

Sincerely,
Husband whose wife is going to thrown her phone away if I cannot find the solution

Are all of your calendar events in a cloud service (no events have been saved locally)? If so, you can try clearing the Calendar's Data (Apps, Calendar, Storage, Clear Data). This will wipe all events from it, but it will also force a re-sync with your cloud accounts. Maybe that will help.

If the duplicates show up again, check which calendars are set up to be visible on your account and hers (Open Calendar, tap menu button, Manage Calendars, check which ones are active...). Is the Outlook account being synced to maybe another account, or an app for Outlook that might be re-writing events if the calendar is being synced to it as well?

Literally been searching the same problem and this is the first instance I have seen of the same problem. I have done all of the things mentioned to try and correct and every time I reinstall the widget, I have the same problem. My calendar itself is synced via Outlook and the entries are only in Outlook once. Help!

I'm having this same problem on my Galaxy S8 (Android v8.0.0, Samsung Experience v9.0). I'm getting four copies of every calendar event that syncs from my Outlook account via Exchange Active Sync. It was three copies of each event last week. The calendar widget is already almost unusable with four copies, if the number increases to five I'll have to stop using it completely. I've tried clearing the calendar data as suggested above, and I've also tried turning off the "MyCalendars" entry in the calendar settings, and I rebooted the phone, but the problem persists. I rely heavily in the calendar and the widget, this is a huge negative for my ability to continue using a Galaxy S8. If it can't be fixed I'll have to get a different phone. Really hoping there is a solution posted soon!

This just started happening to me as well. My calendar events are duplicating. I contacted the app developer of the calendar app I was using and he had me delete the email accounts I was using to pull the calendar information. I did that. Added the accounts back and when it re-synced up it was fixed. BUT, this only worked for 3 or 4 days and then it duplicated again. I think it has something to do with the way the default Android calendar is syncing with the other calendar apps. Hope somone has a fix soon or that new Iphone might be worth a try (not ever!)

Shockingly, this problem has magically disappeared as of this morning. Nothing has changed on my phone that I'm aware of, which is both good and bad. It would be good to understand the root cause so I can fix it if it happens again. I really hope it does not come back!

Same thing just started happening and after much research, I found nothing until now. I have tried everything except uninstalling outlook and that is only because I have three accounts and wanted to avoid the brain damage of setting everything back up.

Had exact same issue pop up this week and this morning had 5 copies of each event. Very frustrating and could not find any way to fix online. Ended up wiping the cache partition on my phone (google how to do this) and resyncing the calendar app. Appears to have worked and keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't rear it's ugly head again.

If you're using the Outlook app to sync your calendar this seems to be an ongoing (like years worth of ongoing) issue. Clearing calendar data and resync seems to help but chances are it'll happen again...

I have the exact same problem and I have an S7 Edge running Android 8.0.0 and Samsung Experience 9.0. My work colleague and I have common calendar items (team meetings, repeated) and both of us are on our institution's Outlook Exchange and use our default Samsung Calendar to sync with the outlook server (same set up).

On mine, the following are occuring:
a. Duplicate entries, up to 8, for repeated meetings. This does not happen on her S7 (Android 8.0.0, Samsung Experience 9.0)
b. Entries that are deleted from my outlook calendar are still showing up on my samsung calendar. This is creating a massive nightmare for me as I cannot tell whether a meeting is still on or not from my phone.

I notice that the key difference between my colleague's phone and mine are the versions of the samsung calendar. Both of us have recently upgraded our Android OS but she is still running Calendar version 4.4.00.52 while mine has been updated to 4.4.02.102. She has a notification to update her calendar via Galaxy Apps.

In the image below, "Core 3 (SS/CCE) Closure" has 8 duplicate entries, all exactly the same.

In this image below, "FW: 20RFP OER ERC Meeting Part 2" and "[Change of Schedule]: September OER Mana.." were deleted from my outlook calendar and is not reflected when I run Outlook on my PC. However it is still shown on my samsung calendar.

I have done the following as an attempt to troubleshoot:
1. Go to Settings - Apps - Calendar - Delete Cache and Delete Data
2. Go to Calendar - Manage Calendars - uncheck everything except my EAS calendar

I tested downloading a separate calendar app like onecalendar and that works almost well (it doesn't show up not accepted yet calendar invites while samsung calendar does, so it's not optimal)

Any suggestions? I use Calendar heavily...!

I just started having the same issue with my Note 8. I have 8 entries for every appointment but only on the exchange calendar. Tried wiping the cache partition but that didn't work.

I've been noticing the same issue with my S8 for a few weeks now. Thanks to your note about the versions (mine was 4.4.02.101), I decided to roll back my updates to original 4.4.01.3 and now no duplicates! It's a workaround for now as I too use my calendar on my S8, Outlook and Outlook.com.

...And the problem is back as of yesterday (Sept. 17th). Three duplicates of everything this time. I'll try the calendar app versioning stuff mentioned lower down in this thread.

jenni232323, how were you able to roll back updates? My calendar version is 4.4.01.3, like yours, but I get duplicates. I would like to try an older version if possible.

This has happened on my s8+ running an exchange calendar (office365) using BlackBerry calendar. Maybe it's an exchange issue.

It is. It's all over their forums and it's been for a while. It seems, however, that while MOST of the issues are with the way Exchange/Outlook accounts handle syncing, some of the blame is also on the apps being used to sync accounts with. I've never had an issue using Nine, and it might work if you add the account through GMail.

This has been driving me insane as well and I've been searching all over for a solution. Found one on another website. I deleted my exchange account from my S8(settings, accounts etc), then cleared the calendar cache from the Apps management settings and then setup my exchange account from scratch. Been less than a day but so far, it is working.

It'll come back. That works for a few days then BAM, Outlook strikes back

I'm forced to use stock email app along with Mobile Iron. This duplicate event thing is driving me nuts.

This morning I removed my outlook account from email and re-added it and at the moment the calendar is back to normal. I'm hoping it holds out for a while. This was the first time I've had this issue.
