S8 Camera: Why do I get these secondary ghost images of small bright lights?

I just noticed that when photographing bright lights in an otherwise dark setting, I get these faint secondary images along with each light.

What causes this?

Secondary reflections inside the camera lens assembly or between the lens and the clear camera outer cover that's flush with the back. Common for any camera. Some more than others.
