Hi,

I am currently a Verizon postpaid customer and am planning on switching to Total Wireless. I will lose my Verizon visual voicemail and am trying to go back to using Google Voice and my voicemail provider. However, Google Voice is not an option under my dialer settings as a voicemail provider option. Only "my carrier" is.

Anyone know a fix for this or have any suggestions even beyond Google Voice to have a visual voicemail option when I switch to Total Wireless?

Thanks!

Put your new phone number as the number to forward calls to in Google Voice. Give out your Google Voice number. (Or, for a one-time $20 fee, port the number to your GV account, and let Total Wireless give you a new number - which you put into your GV account as the number to forward to.) Then anyone calling your GV number gets your cellphone or, if you don't answer, leaves you a GV voice message - and you can get notified by email. (I've been through about 4 different phone numbers - but the number I always give people hasn't changed - it's my GV number. Texts are forwarded to my cellphone too. I have a landline, and only voice calls are forwarded to that, so when I'm sitting at home, if someone calls the GV number, my cellphone and all my landline phones ring.)
