S8 not fast charging after a few seconds

[Android Central Question]

Hi I was wondering if any can help me please.
When I plugged in my S8 to charge (original cable and wall charger), for the first 3 or 5 Seconds it displays “Fast charging” then it plays the plugged in tune and the graphics (like I have physically removed and replugged the charging cable back in) and displays “Cable Charging”… I have tried almost everything that I can think of e.g. removing installed apps, restarting in safe mode, changing cable and charger, factory reset. Nothing works

There are variables we can't see or control. Also I think the phone shifts out of quick charge at high power levels and only utilises it when power is almost drained. This is due to needing enough room to create the power curve it uses to charge the phone properly over time.

On the off chance it's a hardware issue, is yours still under warranty so you could get it checked out?

check your connections, I had a similar problem and it was because my cable wasn't plugged in all the way.
