S8 / S8+ Display Ratio Benefit

Most content will be black barred on the sides resulting smaller content than previous 5.7" (16:9) devices. One benefit though could be touch screen controls, provided they can be mapped outside of the actual active display area. Currently touch controls are in the way for a lot of games and emulators to the point of impacting play-ability. If you could custom map controls in settings to use the black bar areas, this would reduce thumbs being in the way for gaming.

I noticed this when testing some emulators out.

Agreed, that'd be a cool thing to implement if the dev doesn't have a problem with things being one way for Samsung and another for every other device.

There is also a button to make videos play full screen to eliminate the black bars. And it still looks amazing.
