S8 upgrade fingerprint problem

Since upgrading to android oreo 8 on my galaxy s8 the fingerprint recognition is now not working with multiple failures to detect. This has definitely occurred with the update ... previously the sensor worked first time. Has anyone else identified the same problem and are there any sw updates to fix ?

OTA direct from Sammy?
During beta some had to delete and create new set, or even factory erase.

This happened to me immediately following the update. Restarting the phone again seemed to fix it.

This happened to me and restarting the phone has NOT fixed this issue.

I've found a pattern than keeps seeming to happen.

The scanner works to unlock
It then works to do Samsung Pay
The moment I try to open secure folder with fingerprint it all goes to hell.

Restarting the phone doesn't do anything, the phone is now incredibly slow and I'm considering getting rid of it since this new update.

How quickly do Android usually fix bugs like this?

I have the finger print scanner issue following the Oreo update, as well. It works sometimes, but intermittently gives multiple failures, to the point of having to restart phone. Sometimes, it fails period. Also, my finger placement needs to change from try to try to get it to work. Frustrating. If anyone finds a fix, please share. It used to work simply fine.
