S8+ Video zooms at start?

Why is it my S8+ zooms in automatically when i take a video?

I really wish i could fix this. looked at all settings and see nothing.

That's because you can't. The full camera sensor is 4:3 but the video sizes available for recording are different. Ergo, you will always get a cropped version of the full-sensor photo

so it zooms way in at the beginning of every video? so goofy. I have never had a phone that did this.

Most phones have a 16:9 sensor, so video recording is naturally not cropped. With the S8, the sensor is a different size than the video formats used for recording, so it has to adjust to it. And I bet most people prefer the cropping (which seems like a zooming in of the image) than permanent black bars around your video or a stretched-out image that would look deform if you made it fit the video frame size.
