S8 videos to laptop not there

USB connection transferring pic/vids from S8 to laptop. Only pictures showing up on laptop.

The s8 is transferring to windows 7. I open the phone icon on the laptop, open DCIM and all photos are there but no videos. Cannot figure a way for them to show up. Thanks.

Have you checked other folders or maybe SD card ?

Welcome to Android Central! How are you transferring the data? Using the Import Photos and Videos option in Windows File Explorer? Don't use that -- it doesn't work well. Instead, select the files manually and drag/drop them to the phone's storage.

I've had videos randomly disappear on my S8 in the past. Probably some weird bug.

I am transferring them manually. When I open up the phone on the laptop the dcim folder is there with all pics, no videos. I have had the galaxy S3, S5, and now the S8. This is the 1st time I have had this issue. I do not have an SD card.

Just trying to save photos and vids for the wife.

The videos were taken by the Camera app, or did you use another app to record or download them?

Yes the camera app. Here is some new info. I plugged in another S8 phone and the videos are there. No clue as to why I dont see them on the 1st phone.

I can use bluetooth but with the size of the files it will take forever. Absolutely stumped about this.

You can use smart switch to back up everything and transfer to other Samsung device
