I have an S8 and an Iphone 7. I really can't see how the Iphone 8 can be any better than the S8. It will be more expensive and probably have fewer features. However, they will sell a bunch of them.

I don't know if they'll sell a bunch of 8's. The iPhone 7s and 7s+ will sell a bunch this year. The 8 sounds like a speciality phone to mark the 10th anniversary.

I still have a 6S and a 6S+. Skipped the 7 because I didn't think it was a worthy upgrade. I'm not expecting much with the iPhone either so I think I'll keep the 6S and 6S+ yet another year.

My S8+ is the fastest phone I have used to date.

I'm not impressed with the leaks so far and I'm an iPhone girl. I've exchanged my S8+ for and iphone 7+ at least 5 times now. And, I just keep coming back to the S8+ because of the design and advanced features that aren't on an iPhone just yet. IPhone has its work cut out to draw me back and it's needs to start with the design of the iPhone.

I've heard the iPhone 8 is supposed to blow circles around the S8 speed wise although I don't see how but that's what I read from a reported leak. It was pretty impressive to what the numbers reportedly said vs the S8. Remains to be seen though.

Speed and fastest are just Apple and there blind fan base go to punch line for always having nothing new to bring to the table. All new flagships are fast even mid-range ones.

Horses for courses. Depending on your usage, preferences and background.
If you like to fiddle, go android, if not...
Certainly, the later galaxy phones are not for newbies, many settings and options to tie one in knots.

Greggles has a protype iPhone 8. Just from the looks of it I'm not impressed. I'd rather have the s8.

I wouldn't count on it "blowing circles" around the S8. Might be a little faster but it won't be blowing anything away

Im telling y'all now, mark my words the iPhone 8 release is gonna be a friggin nightmare. They are already talking about massive shortages on the 8 model. People are gonna get suckered into settling for a 7s or 7s plus because the 8 isn't available and Apple will make iPhone users feel like their 1 year old 7 is crippled by the release of the new phones. Y'all just watch...

While we're on the subject, I'll be really surprised if the iPhone 8 is even released at the same time as the other two phones. They may just announce it and slate it for later release.

This phone is too perfect and customizable for me to switch. Plus the iPhone 8 is said to be over $1000 this year they are releasing the 7s series also at the lower price with newer processor.

The Pixel 2 and the next iPhone have my interest. I will definitely be watching Apple's keynote to see if I should snag an iPhone (just being honest) :P.

Captain Obvious lol

iPhone 8 is going to obviously be an awesome phone, or whatever the X one is, or whatever. iPhones are high quality, almost on par with Pixels for both performance and security, have decent cameras and awesome battery life. The 7+ display still is the best (most accurate) display on a phone.

My best guess for the best 5 devices of 2017 is something close to the following: Pixel XL 2 > iPhone 8 > Note 8 > S8+ > U11 = G6

If you're already on a top 5 device, IMO there's no reason to "upgrade" to one of the others.

No reason other than you're an addicted geek (myself) and want a new toy to play with.

Not going to lie .. I wiped my S8+ and am using a friends iPhone 7 Plus. I am not sure I am going to last after tonight. Not that it is horrid or anything but I am just used to certain tweaks on Android such as notifications per app at the top left, signal info, bandwidth monitor, easier integration with things like LastPass, etc.

Nothing major or super game breaking but I miss my few things really bad lol. iMessage still is fun though. I was just able to get a video of my nephew from my mom in full quality.
