Hey all! So I've seen an ad selling a galaxy s8, for 300 and I probably could haggle, however he claims that there is some knox thing on it.. It is not rooted and he says he can unlock and use the phone normally.. So my question is can I remove knox with ease?? Or should I stay away from it?? Thanks for reading.

Considering they still sell new for $600 I'd call a red flag. I wouldn't trust anyone with tampering with knox because they can easily brick it. I'd check swappa if you want to find a used s8 that has some guarantees that it isn't stolen or bricked.

Knox is Samsung's security platform and a part of every Samsung phone as far as I know. Mostly geared to enterprise use. It's not removable that I know of. Secure Folder takes advantage of it as well.
You probably need to clarify exactly what seller means by Knox being enabled.
$300 is kind of a low-ball price if it's in good condition.
Is the seller using a reputable site?
Another member here just had a terrible experience getting ripped off from a Craigslist sale.
