I'm livid. I've done countless google searches with no solution. I've owned the s7 edge before the s8 and had the same problem but just lived with it. I figured the s8 would be different. Nope. How is it that an iphone last WEEKS! on idle while samsung phones last 2 days tops?!!! Are they recording us secretly or something? How isn't this the number one topic of discussion when deciding between the companies phones? And before anyone asks - I live in NYC - so I shouldn't have the roaming drain problem. I have AOD off - I have maybe 20 aps - no facebook. Andriod systems, device idle, and cell standy take up all my battery!

1. If the phone is in a dead spot (and I've found many tiny ones in all 5 boroughs and on Long Island), it uses more battery.

2. Android phones run emulators, similar to Java Runtime Environment, because Android apps are written in Java (or Kotlin - same thing from the user's viewpoint). that eats battery. (iPhone apps are written in C, so they run natively in the CPU, so there's no emulator eating power.) But 2 full days? You must be a light user. Up until Pie, most users would be happy to get 8 hours without needing a charge. (With Pie's battery management, I've gone 3 days, and they're long days, about 12 hours, so that's about 4-1/2 8 hour days.)

Check your battery usage (in Settings). See if phone idle is taking a lot of the usage. If it is, it's a weak signal. If not, you're fine. (Comparing iPhones and Androids is like comparing a cripple to someone who has to run down game in the jungle in order to eat. If he's still alive, of course he's faster. You're not comparing apples and oranges, you're comparing apples and fish.)
