S9 Active?

Been pretty quiet on all fronts concerning this year's S9 Active variant. Anybody heard/seen any info regarding it?

Almost necro'ing this because..... where is this phone at?? I don't think I've ever seen an active released this late in the year. No news, rumors, nada. I see more post about the S10 line than this phone.

Yea, I've come to the conclusion that we won't see an Active version this year. I'm moving on to OnePlus 6t, Pixel 3, or maybe something else.

I saw a post early this morning on the AT&T forums. It concluded there will not be a release anytime soon of a new active as nothing has been filed with the FCC.

So the big question is what is a suitable alternative to the S7 or 8 Active? Seems like the LG X Venture is a fail. All the other ones I have seen that fall in the "rugged" category are junk. I'm over AT&T too, Verizon doesn't seem to have any phones I want.

I had a Samsung 6 Active and I remember why with water proofing and larger battery, what is the difference now from just putting a case on the S9? is there a need for the Active
